THE RITUAL ITSELF:
1.
After
lighting the smudge, the tool or item being consecrated is held (or at least
laid upon the altar or the floor if it is too large) over the path of the
smoke, or at least within the path if item cannot be held. The ordained leader
faces North and will say:
Powers
of the North,
Guardians
of the Air,
I
consecrate this [object]
May
you charge it with your energies.
I
purify it with my might to make this item sacred.
2.
The
leader will now, turn to the east sprinkling the sallietur lutum over the
object and say:
Powers
of the East,
Guardians
of the Earth,
I
consecrate this [object]
May
you charge it with your energies.
I
purify it with my might to make this item sacred.
3.
The
ordained leader will then face south and pass the tool over the flame of the
candle and say:
Powers
of the South,
Guardians
of Fire,
I
consecrate this [object[
May
you charge it with your energies.
I
purify it with my might to make this item sacred.
4.
Finally,
turn to the west and, adding water to the item, say:
Powers
of the West,
Guardians
of Water,
I
consecrate this [object]
May
you charge it with your energies.
I
purify it with my might to make this item sacred.
5.
Face
the altar, holding the item just over the altar and say:
I
charge this [object] in the name of Old Ones,
the
Ancients, every planet, and by every Sun and Moon.
By
the powers of the Earth, of Air, of Fire and of Water
I
banish the negative energies of any previous owners,
to
make this new and fresh.
I
consecrate this [object]
Let
it be cleansed.
